Much of the northern section of the 19th-century City Union Line railway in Glasgow, Scotland is in regular use as the Springburn branch of the North Clyde line. What remains of the southern section is rarely used but still maintained, and has several prominent arches, road bridges and a bridge over the River Clyde; it connects the lines towards Paisley which feed into Central station with otherwise separate lines towards Edinburgh which feed into Queen Street station, and has occasionally been mooted as a potential route for a 'Crossrail Glasgow' expansion project in the city.
